Occupational Therapy

Tailored Occupational Therapy for Children in the Comfort of Home

Helping Your Child With Activities of Daily Living

Occupational therapy works to help your child manage some of the functions of daily living. Specifically, occupational therapy helps children gain the highest level of independence while addressing the development of fine motor skills, visual motor skills, sensory integration, and activities of daily living (ADL’s) that children need to function and socialize. ADL’s include dressing, bathing, feeding, grooming, toileting, hygiene, home skills, and school skills.

Children who may benefit from occupational therapy include those with:

  • birth injuries
  • neurological disorders (ex: cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida)
  • developmental delays
  • sensory processing disorders
  • coordination disorder
  • weakness in upper extremities
  • autism
  • ADHD
  • down syndrome
  • traumatic injuries
  • premature birth
